For parents – one of the hardest experiences is to see your child struggle. When the issue doesn’t have a simple answer, it is natural to feel scared, frustrated or even helpless while navigating the struggle. As parents, we often forget we aren’t meant to do this parenting journey alone. Our children and teens need circles of support — just like we do. And that’s where our team of Child & Youth Counsellors at Breathing Space Counselling come in – we are here to be a trusted part of your circle of support!
Our Child & Youth counsellors have much to offer with solid educational backgrounds and well-practiced skills. They lead with compassion, curiosity and sensitivity. Our team is trained in different types of therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), play therapy, walk and talk therapy, Bowen Family Systems therapy, mindfulness practices, somatic therapy and more. They know how to create a safe space so your child or teen can open up, share, learn, grow and thrive.
We are here to help you remember that expanding your child’s circle of support is an act of trust and courage. It can bring much needed help and relief to your child, to you and your family.
For teens – if you are here looking for a counsellor to support you, we’re so glad you found us! Our team of counsellors can offer you a confidential space to bring whatever you want talk about. You will have a space where your voice will be valued, you won’t be judged, and you will be empowered to make decisions that feel good and right for you. Whatever you bring to counselling, we’re here and we’ve got your back.
