About Me
I grew up in Vancouver, BC and I am a Canadian woman of South Asian descent. Bollywood movies and listening to Hindi music with my parents was the norm in my home so I am able to understand Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu and I am fluent in speaking Gujarati.
My family and I arrived in Canada as immigrants and struggled with trauma and racism along with adapting to a new way of life. I grew up feeling invisible and inadequate, struggling with anxiety and low mood, which tainted my relationships. It took volunteering and self-reflection to recognize my own worth and seek help. It was a journey of healing for me too, as I confronted my insecurities and found connection and purpose and my dedication in serving. I am grateful for discovering my voice, the gifts I possess, and experiencing incredible personal growth through my learning. My journey has shown me that I have a lot to offer to the world and am enough just the way I am. It has been difficult for me as well to be vulnerable, and to reveal this to the world, I know the importance of celebrating my imperfections and ‘the messes’ that make me who I am. I’m hopeful that this will inspire you to taking the next step to living your best life.
In my 50’s, I find myself standing at the crossroads of several life transitions—some expected, others surprising in their depth and tenderness. As a single South Asian woman and parent, my personal experiences intertwine with my professional role as a counsellor, inviting me to explore themes of identity, belonging, and growth with renewed honesty. As a counsellor, I often witness clients navigating similar terrain—letting go of identities that once defined them, finding courage to build new ones. Yet living this myself brings a deeper compassion. I’ve learned that transition is not a single event; it’s a process of allowing old narratives to soften and new ones to emerge, even when they feel uncertain at first.
Counselling Philosophy / Therapeutic Approach
I practice from a client-centered approach embedded with transpersonal and somatic therapy techniques to support you in feeling more connected to your mind and body. My focus is on individual and family relationships, anti-oppression, intergenerational and racial trauma, limiting self beliefs, anxiety, feminist perspectives, and mental health and substance use disorders.
I know that coming to therapy can be terrifying. I honor you in taking this brave step for yourself. I am dedicated to being truthful with you and work with you at your pace with care, compassion, and gentleness. I will offer you counselling that will support you in your growth and what works best for you. Together, we can unlock your true potential and create positive change. Remember, you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. Let’s walk this path together and empower you to create the life you deserve.
My approach is informed by a number of counselling modalities which include:
- Acceptance and Commitment (ACT)
- AEDP
- Cognitive Behavioural (CBT)
- Culturally Sensitive
- Experiential Therapy

- Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Specialized Niches
Women’s Issues: I support women as they navigate life transitions, identity development, self-esteem, relationships, and stressors unique to their experiences. I help clients explore challenges, build effective coping strategies, and foster self-compassion. My approach offers a safe, empowering space where women can process emotions, gain clarity, and resilience so they can thrive in all aspects of their life.
Self Esteem and Confidence: I support individuals in understanding their self-worth, challenging negative self-beliefs, and developing confidence through self-acceptance, emotional awareness, and healthy coping strategies. My approach helps clients build a stronger sense of identity and resilience in their personal and interpersonal lives.
Substance Use Disorders: Whether you are in recovery, currently struggling, or somewhere in between, I offer a compassionate and judgment-free space to explore what lies beneath the behavior. With experience working on the front lines of addiction and trauma treatment, I understand how complex this path can be. Together, we will gently explore the parts of you that turn to substances for relief or escape, supporting healing and helping you reconnect with your inner strength, clarity, and wholeness.
